Buried in Anthropic's leaked source code: a disabled feature called Kairos — a persistent daemon that runs in the background, acts without prompts, and dreams while you sleep. The trust problem isn't theoretical. It's already running on 345,000 machines.

Right now, the only thing standing between an AI agent and an unauthorized action is a system prompt. A few lines of natural language, written by a human, interpreted by a model, enforced by nothing. That's the entire governance stack for software that moves money, accesses customer data, and deploys code to production.
